THE PROBLEM
To create a well-balanced magazine cover for a fictitious publication, using research and creativity. This Project 03 Magazine Cover must include multiple images, filters, and other details to ensure that it is captivating. The criteria consists multiple filters, masks, and other image alterations to present a detailed cover with a unique concept.
THE SOLUTION
TARGET MARKET - My magazine, “Focused Fashion,” is a fashion and lifestyle magazine directed to young adults of all genders. Since this magazine is very inclusive, it will reach a multitude of individuals.
TOP COMPETITION - Although my magazine, "Focused Fashion," has a unique concept, there are some competitors. My competition includes:
- Vogue Magazine - GQ Magazine
BRAND TRUST - My magazine does not have any direct competitors considering that there are not any multi-gendered fashion magazines. Therefore, my magazine may reach a larger audience, in comparison to Vogue Magazine or GQ Magazine. However, the two fashion magazines that have influenced my magazine creation are GQ (men’s fashion) and Vogue (women’s fashion).
VOCAL CONSUMERS - Focused Fashion is printed and distributed by The Watchtower. Online reviews reveal that this magazine is soaring in popularity due to the variety of topics covered within a single issue. This magazine includes topics such as lifestyle, fashion, cooking, gaming, and the latest trends, to ensure our audiences are up-to-date on the latest information and trends. One reviewer commented,
"I never thought about writing an online review for a magazine, but Focused Fashion continues to impress. I absolutely enjoy the diversity of topics covered in this January issue. I hope that Focused Fashion continues to include such topics! It is very interesting to read about cooking and gaming within the same magazine" (2020).

THE PROBLEM
To create an info-graphic that includes the latest research and trends. This info-graphic must communicate the information effectively to the audience in a creative manner.
While completing this project, I did not encounter any technical complications or difficulties. However, I did face a problem with the creative design of the background.
THE SOLUTION
TARGET MARKET - This info-graphic is directed towards individuals interested in mobile applications, software, or trends regarding new technology. However, this information impacts every individual with any device, as this software applies to various other devices.
THE RESULT
The final result is a well-balanced info-graphic that includes the latest trends in mobile app development. This info-graphic includes bold colors, interesting fonts, all of which captivate detailed icons, design, and overall structure.

This album cover integrates my favorite design movement, International Typographic Style, and my favorite group, the 1975.
The key characteristics in this movement include simplicity, objectivity, depth, and subtlety, and legibility through the utilization of asymmetrical layouts, usage of grids, san-serif typefaces, and negative space.
The final result blends the ITS movement and Müller-Brockmann’s design methods to create a complementary textural and colorful design.

University of Houston’s DigiFest is an annual senior portfolio showcase. This important event provides opportunities to seniors through the presentation of their projects and other work they have completed throughout the course of their undergraduate careers.
The brand system and overall design of my project is centered around my written concept, "Digital Media inspires individuals to create a synthesis between technology, science, and art."
This identity system effectively integrates the UH brand system along with the Digital Media program to create a concise materials system.

This ePUB newsletter was designed following the University of Houston’s brand style guides. This ePUB features a hyperlink table of contents, as well as UH hyperlinks featured on each page accordingly.
Moreover, I created a website through MailChimp to campaign this ePUB newsletter to other individuals. The site allows the user to read more about this newsletter and then download this ePUB for reading as well.
Overall, this newsletter presents the same UH style presented in a unique form!

My team members and I created a project proposal for our client, the Program Coordinator of the Biotechnology Program at the University of Houston. Our client requested a website wireframe, a 6-page brochure, various social media posts, and video production ideas. My team decided to complete different project deliverables based on our strengths. I was in charge of the client research, target audience research, social media posts, video production ideas, and the final proposal document. First, I conducted the research on the target audience by reviewing statistics on the National Center for Education, as well as reviewing other program competitors’ websites and social media accounts. Based on this research, I created social media posts to highlight the key differentiation between the Biotech program at UH, in comparison to other universities. These social media posts were aimed at the target market and included brief information, such as the course schedule, Biotech club, as well as job possibilities and starting salary. Once our project deliverables were completed, I compiled the files and arranged them in the final project proposal. Our client was pleased because my team exceeded his expectations by providing various key features and materials to guide this UH program.

This 24-page photobook is centered around the photographic technique of long exposure.
I decided to shoot these photos mainly at night, as I noticed the results were more impressive and there was more room to experiment. My locations included freeways, highways, streets, parking lots, and parks.
Overall, this photography project was very interesting and fun, since I was able to gain a new technique and experiment in both shooting the photos, as well as editing them.

The first art study is based on this photo taken by an unknown artist on vk.com. I was intrigued by the values of highlights and shadows presented by this photograph. I utilized 12 brushes on Photoshop to complete this piece. I enjoyed painting the sleeve colors and shadows the most! This illustration was completed fairly quickly in comparison to my other work and I am pleased with the final result.
This piece was inspired by the surrealist photographer Ziqian Lui’s piece. Lui’s surrealist captures are quite stunning and as soon as I saw it, I knew I wanted to illustrate it. I found some difficulty in achieving the correct shadow values and blending them in properly. Overall, I am satisfied with the final illustration and I intend to paint more of Lui’s works!
